Friday Fun!

We ended our week with a dance party light show on Friday afternoon after naptime. They were all memorized by the lights! I splurged and bought a disco light for $10 on Amazon, I really can't help myself when I find a good deal for my daycare. I may be implementing the fun lights during our music and movement time.

All week we worked on our 5 senses, Friday we talked about Seeing. As I was preparing lunch they started yelling "snow, snow it's snowing!" So we took a moment and watched the snowflakes fall onto the deck.

I had to return our library books, I know the kids will be disappointed I'm hoping to go to the library tomorrow evening to get some new books to enjoy. I thought you would all like to know how much the kiddos loved reading these books so maybe you can go and check them out next time your at the library!

During our day I take out some interactive learning toys for the kids to enjoy. These toys are pretty annoying because they are so loud but when I do take them out they are fully engaged. These boys love their laptops and they are learning letters, sounds, music, counting and numbers.

We painted out black sheets of paper with glue and I had the kids paste their cutup painted artwork to it. It was very pretty and they did a good job filling in all the glued spots. It's much prettier in person!

We love taking walks outside, I'm excited for summer to come as we will be walking to the park to have a lots of picnics!

Thank goodness for an extra bathtub! I love how I can deep clean all the toys at the end of the week!

Learning about our five senses

Monday morning miss Carrie stopped by for music and movement class. This class is usually $5 a child if all of you are interested we could have another class to schedule, let me know! Just a different person coming in to teach us some new songs is always a fun activity!

This morning I got out the pom poms little and big. I took off their socks and let them feel how soft they were on their toes, some of them thought it was better to stick them in between their toes, then we did the finger play five little piggies!

What better we to use our sense of smelling then to use Miss Becky's old rose petals for our smelling activity, i placed contact paper on the wall sticky side up and let them stick their petals to it. We then brought it outside and sprinkled it around on the grass.
Lea's older sister came over and played with us yesterday, we had fun using our new walking rope and listened very well about holding onto our colored ring when walking with the group. We will try again later this week.
I have two more smaller swings that I just bought but who would have guessed I needed longer chains to hang them up. So while I'll put that on my list of things to buy, we had some turns in the infant swing because everybody likes to go swinging!
We've been doing gross motor play throughout the day they really like to take their bikes to the park and switch out different bikes with their friends all long the way. I'm really impressed with their determination skills this week!

French toast was a hit, we will be having this lunch again sometime soon!

Will you be my Valentine?!

We had such a fun day celebrating Valentine's Day! They kept asking all morning when they when we were going to give our our valentine day presents to each other, we talked about in our circle time how when people give you something you should say thank you to your friends and give hugs. So Thank you to everyone who got me a little something sweet, I feel like a fatty for binge eating on girl scout cookies plus consuming so much chocolate in the last day, ha!

Right before lunch time I told them if we all picked up our toys we would get to give out our valentines, i've never seen such good helpers before! Honestly it was the cutest thing watching all the love and kindness they were giving to one another.

The highlight of the day was our cooking activity...making pink cupcakes. It almost didn't happen I realized that the night before that I was out of cooking oil and had no substitute of unsweetened applesauce to use, I had to call my dad in the morning and ask if he could pick me up some. Note to self: make sure you have plenty ingredients when cooking with kids!

So, I think we wasted about five eggs but eggs are cheap and it's a fun learning experience so what the heck! They did pretty good!

They did really good about mixing the batter in the bowl, we only spilled a few times.

They basically made these cupcakes the only thing I did was pour the batter into the muffin cups and bake it. They are better bakers than I am my baking never turns out! They were moist and I was told that they were very yummy!

Thank you all so much for the donations on paper products it was such a nice day not having to do any dishes! :)

After naptime we played with the water beads in the sensory tub, they had fun scooping and pouring with their dump trucks.

I'm so blessed to care for such a great bunch of kids! I love all of them dearly!!!
